Photos of the exhibition at BSAD Sion Hill Campus, Bath. The end of MA and the exhibition of the Master's project. The group of black parian vessels were inspired by the reflections of the white parian photographed in the River Clyde at the #timberponds next to the timbers that inspired the project. Pulling it all together
Its only a few days now till we set up the assessment exhibition, and hand in our evaluative statements. I've mocked up my space, which is a bit tricky as it's cut in half with a partition wall. The work isn't quite fitting but we are going to sort it out on install day. I … Continue reading Pulling it all together
BSAD (Bath School of Art and Design) have asked all the MA students for some stock images and text for the Instagram account. I do struggle to post in my own account, especially at the moment when much of my work is written or organising for the exhibition. Shetland glossary- visual poetry
I've worked on a few drafts of this. I began as always transcribing the words into a word document, this time from my glossary of tabu terms from the Haaf fishermen, found first quoted by MacFarlane, then in my Shetland Glossary bought online from the Shetland Times bookstore. ‘Shetland Words’, A dictionary of the Shetland … Continue reading Shetland glossary- visual poetry

At this point I decided to try to … Continue reading Point of reflection

Tushker
I picked up my Tushker today, it can't really be called a Tairsgeir anymore as I used the archived drawing from Shetland so it's a Tushker. I need to leave it outside for a couple of days for the weld to rust, of course its not raining today for once. Photograph Affleck, Sketching the profile … Continue reading Tushker
Last bisque firing
I fired the final 18 peat slices in Jeff, at 1000 degrees on Wednesday. He was around 300 today and cooling so I’ll empty tomorrow and load more boxes of bisque fired peat slices into the car for firing over the holiday. My porch is crammed with bags of burning peat, a raku kiln, Tongs, … Continue reading Last bisque firing
Test print
I ran a 2m high test print to see the resolution and scale of the photographs and graphics. I'm almost happy with the layout. I've marked up the print and plan to extend the print to roll onto the floor, I'll look into printing onto linen. Or tracing paper. Again responding to the site of … Continue reading Test print
